Readers’ Quest – New Book Reading Program for Grades 6 to 9

·

·

We are delighted to introduce Readers’ Quest, a year-long reading program designed to nurture the love for books among students of Grades 6 to 9 at Nava Jyothi High School.

As part of this initiative:

  • 📘 Students can read any book of their choice in English, Telugu, or Hindi (minimum 50 pages, focusing on a single story or concept).
  • 👩‍🏫 After completing the book, students will meet the Guide Teacher, who will ask 10 questions to assess their understanding.
  • ✅ Students who answer at least 7 questions correctly will earn 1 point. All points will be recorded and tracked.

🎯 Purpose & Student Benefits

The goal of Readers’ Quest is to create a culture of reading and reflection among students. Through consistent and enjoyable reading, students gain:

  • Improved Language Skills – Vocabulary, comprehension, and sentence formation naturally strengthen over time.
  • Better Focus & Imagination – Reading helps students concentrate deeply and visualize vividly, enhancing creativity.
  • Stronger Academic Performance – Students who read regularly tend to perform better across subjects due to improved understanding and retention.
  • Confidence in Communication – Regular interaction with the guide teacher boosts speaking clarity and thinking skills.
  • A Love for Learning – The habit of reading develops independent thinking and a genuine interest in exploring new ideas.

This program aims to go beyond academics—to build curious, confident, and expressive individuals.

🏆 Recognition for Top Readers

At the end of the academic year, the Top 5 students with the highest points will be honored in two special ways:

  1. Their photos will be featured on the ‘Readers’ Quest’ board in the school library.
  2. They will also be showcased on the school website as our Top Readers of the Year.

📖 Let the reading journey begin—one page at a time!
